The cottonseed dehuller (also known as disc dehuller) is KMEC’s flagship model specially designed and manufactured for large oil mills. It is the largest and best-selling dehulling equipment in our product series. It adopts a patented structure, innovatively adding a mixing wheel between the traditional fixed disc and moving disc, which significantly expands the working area, thereby greatly enhancing the equipment’s processing efficiency and dehulling capacity.
This equipment is optimized specifically for cottonseed dehulling, while also being widely applicable for shelling other oilseeds such as peanuts, tung nuts, and oil-tea camellia seeds, as well as for crushing operations on soybeans, peanut kernels, and oil cake blocks. Its dehulling rate reaches up to 99% . For the small amount of cottonseed not fully dehulled in the first pass, secondary processing can be easily performed to ensure thorough dehulling.
During the dehulling process, the equipment effectively separates short linters. When combined with a fan and cyclone separator for collection, it makes kernel-hull separation easier while increasing the protein content in the meal. Working Principle of Cottonseed Dehuller
The disc dehuller mainly consists of the following parts: Feeder, Fixed grinding disc, Moving grinding disc, Grinding segments, Base, Housing, Adjuster, etc.
Working Process:
1. Cottonseed enters the dehuller uniformly through the feeder
2. The material is subjected to rubbing and shearing action between the fixed and moving grinding discs
3. The patented mixing wheel increases the working area, enhancing the dehulling effect
4. The cottonseed hull is crushed and peeled off, while the inner kernel remains
5. The mixture of kernels and hulls is discharged from the lower outlet
6. Short linters are separated during the dehulling process and can be collected using a fan and cyclone separator
