Oil Dewaxing Equipment —— Effectively Remove Vegetable Oil Wax, Enhance Oil Quality
In the vegetable oil refining process, dewaxing is a crucial step to ensure oil transparency, mouthfeel, and shelf life stability, especially for high-wax oils such as corn germ oil, sunflower oil, and rice bran oil. Our company’s Oil Dewaxing Equipment covers the two main stages of Crystallization Equipment and Separation Equipment, efficiently removing wax to guarantee the purity and quality of the refined oil.
Crystallization Equipment —— Precise Temperature Control, Promotes Wax Crystallization
The function of crystallization equipment is to allow the wax in the crude oil to form crystals at low temperatures, facilitating subsequent separation. We offer the following three core crystallization units:
Crystallizer (Batch Type)
- Jacketed crystallizer with a temperature-controlled medium circulation system. Features an oblong tank body with an internal agitator, achieving precise temperature control via the cooling medium in the jacket.
- Long cylindrical crystallization tank installed in a cold room. The tank has a relatively small diameter (or uses a rectangular tank with a sloping bottom and width ≤600mm) and is equipped with external insulation to achieve slow cooling, promoting uniform crystal formation.
- Application Scenario: Suitable for small-batch, multi-variety dewaxing production, offering operational flexibility.
Crystallization Tower (Continuous Type)
- Structural Features: A vertical, long cylindrical body composed of an upper dish cover, lower dish cover, and several tower sections, equipped with an external cooling jacket. Inside the tower, multiple layers of perforated baffles are installed. A central mixing shaft is fitted with alternating mixing blades and guide disc baffles, driven by a variable speed motor at a speed of 10~13 rpm to promote convective heat transfer.
- Advantages: Enables continuous solvent dewaxing with high processing capacity, suitable for large-scale refining production lines.
Maturing tank —— The “Incubator” for Crystal Growth
- Function: Provides residence time for the newly precipitated micro wax crystals, allowing them to grow larger to facilitate filtration.
- Batch maturing tank: Can be replaced by a crystallization tank.
- Continuous maturing tank: Features a jacketed, flat-top, dished-bottom cylindrical body. Internally, guide disc baffles are installed via support rods. A paddle-type agitator on the central shaft is driven by a variable speed motor for slow mixing. The jacket allows for the introduction of a cooling medium to precisely control the cooling rate, promoting full crystal growth. An external liquid level gauge facilitates monitoring of flow rate and control of the maturing effect.
Separation Equipment —— Efficient Wax Separation, Achieves Automatic Cake Discharge
After crystallization, the wax crystals are suspended in the oil and must be removed via separation equipment. We highly recommend the Heating Cake Discharge Filter, which effectively solves the problems of slow filtration and difficult cake removal associated with traditional plate and frame filter presses.
Heating Cake Discharge Filter
Structure and Principle: The main structure is similar to a plate and frame filter press, but with the key difference being the installation of steam or hot water circulating coils inside the filter frames.
Working Process:
- Filtration Stage: Oil under pressure difference passes through the filter cloth and exits from the outlets on the filter plates, while wax crystals are retained within the filter frames.
- Cake Discharge Stage: When the filtration pressure reaches a preset value, feeding is stopped. Steam (or temperature-controlled hot water) is introduced into the coils inside the frames, melting the wax cake trapped within. The outlet on the filter frame is then opened to discharge the liquid wax.
- Reset Stage: Cold water is circulated through the heating coils inside the frames to cool the filter down to the required operating temperature. The frame outlets are closed, and the filter is ready for the next cycle.
Advantages of Heating Cake Discharge Filter
- Automatic Cake Discharge: Eliminates the need for manual disassembly of filter plates, significantly reducing labor intensity.
- Good Hygiene: Enclosed operation reduces contamination risks.
- Long-Term No Disassembly Required: Equipment runs continuously and stably, with simple maintenance.
- Although the equipment has a relatively large footprint and slightly higher steel consumption, the significant comprehensive benefits brought by its automation make it particularly suitable for medium to large-scale refineries.
Additionally, we offer supporting Wax Cake Treatment Tanks for collecting the melted wax, facilitating subsequent comprehensive utilization.
