With the rapid development of the Russian food processing industry, the market demand for high-quality vegetable oil continues to rise. Against this backdrop, after extensive research and comparison, a Russian client ultimately chose to cooperate with KMEC to introduce a 100 tons per day (TPD) soybean oil pressing and refining production line. This project aims to enhance local soybean processing capacity, produce first-grade soybean oil that meets international standards, and simultaneously satisfy the regional demand for edible oil and feed soybean meal.
As the general contractor, KMEC was responsible for the process design, equipment manufacturing, transportation, installation, commissioning, and personnel training for the entire production line. The project commenced in early 2007, and all equipment installation and commissioning were completed in October of the same year, with successful one-time startup. The production line covers the complete process from soybean cleaning, crushing, softening, flaking, extruding, and solvent extraction to crude oil refining. It employs advanced physical refining technology to ensure stable finished oil quality, low energy consumption, and environmental compliance.
Project Content
- Pre-treatment Workshop: Equipped with high-efficiency cleaning screens, magnetic separators, crushers, softening kettles, and flaking mills to remove impurities from soybeans and adjust moisture and temperature, preparing them for subsequent pressing.
- Pressing Workshop: Utilizes KMEC’s self-developed series of screw presses, featuring variable frequency drives and automatic temperature control systems. This achieves low-temperature pressing, maximizing the retention of natural nutrients in the oil while obtaining high-quality meal.
- Extraction Workshop: Uses a new type of rotary extractor with food-grade solvent to extract residual oil from the pressed cake, achieving an extraction rate of over 99%. The mixed oil undergoes evaporation and stripping to recover the solvent, resulting in crude oil.
- Refining Workshop: Employs a physical refining process, including degumming, deacidification, decolorization, deodorization, and dewaxing. Equipped with high-efficiency plate heat exchangers and an automatic control system, it ensures the finished oil has a low acid value, clear color, and pure flavor, fully complying with Russian national standards and EU edible oil standards.
- Auxiliary Systems: Includes solvent recovery systems, heat energy recovery systems, and wastewater treatment systems to achieve green production.
Features of Our Project
- High Production Efficiency: The production line is designed to process 100 tons of soybeans per day, producing approximately 30,000 tons of soybean oil annually and around 45,000 tons of soybean meal, significantly boosting the client’s production capacity.
- Advanced Technology: The entire line integrates multiple KMEC patented technologies, such as energy-saving evaporation systems, fully automatic control software, and low-temperature deodorization technology, reducing energy consumption by over 15% compared to traditional processes.
- Strong Adaptability: Considering the cold Russian climate, equipment material selection and insulation design account for low-temperature environments to ensure normal operation during winter.
- Comprehensive Service: KMEC dispatched a professional engineering team for on-site installation and commissioning guidance, trained the client’s operators, and provided long-term technical support and spare parts supply.
Project Outcome
Since its commissioning in October 2007, the production line has maintained stable operation with low equipment failure rates and easy maintenance. Tests show that the finished oil meets or exceeds national standards in all indicators, selling well locally and in surrounding areas. The soybean meal, as a high-quality protein feed, is also highly favored by livestock farming enterprises. The client has spoken highly of KMEC’s equipment quality and technical services and has repeatedly placed orders for spare parts and upgrades. The success of this project not only helped the client secure a leading position in the regional market but also established a key reference project for KMEC in Russia and other CIS countries, attracting numerous potential clients for visits and inspections.
Project Significance
The successful implementation of this project fully demonstrates KMEC’s comprehensive strength in undertaking large-scale oil engineering turnkey projects and further enhances the competitiveness of Chinese oil equipment in the international market. At the same time, it serves as a model for cooperation between China and Russia in the fields of agricultural machinery and food processing, promoting the extension and upgrading of the local agricultural industry chain.
